Constructed from 1897, Constructed from 1903
St Luke's Anglican Church St Luke's is a beautiful and well kept example of church architecture with a century of continual use. With Alexandra Hall and the Rectory, it forms a small, Anglican precinct. The Church has been a social place in which generations of Mosman Park residents have regularly met and a spiritual place in which the important ceremonies of life have been conducted. Alexandra Hall Has retained its original form and continues to be used for church activities, social events and community purposes. It forms part of a century old Anglican precinct with St Luke's and the Rectory. The Hall has been well maintained and is an attractive part of the landscape. The Rectory is part of a small Anglican precinct with a century of local history. Although there have been extensions to the rear, the Rectory appears to have retained its original front appearance. The large garden contributes a sense of space in an area where most house blocks are quite small.
St Luke's Anglican Church St Luke's Church has a traditional cruciform plan with limestone walls and a Marseilles clay tile roof. The lancet windows are not original, the original windows were too small and were replaced. The roof is supported by timber timber trusses with metal tie rods. The raking ceiling over the truss is of timber boarding. Around the walls are small ventilation boxes. There is a large rose window of stained glass leadlight high on the western end of the nave. Modern stained glass windows are behind the altar and on the south wall of the transept. The porch on the western end, stonework, lancet windows and doors, was added in 1956. The transepts and sanctuary are panelled with jarrah. There are jarrah choir stalls, pulpit and other church furniture. A jarrah font, carved by HB Howell was presented to the Church in 1899. The pipe organ, probably built in 1880, is considered to be the best example in Western Australia of the work of Hill, the 19th C organ builder. It was installed in St Luke's in 1924. This building is one of a group which includes the Old Rectory and Alexandra Hall. St Luke's is set in well maintained, landscaped gardens with brick paving and limestone retaining walls. Close to the north is Alexandra Hall, across an empty lot, to the south west, is the Rectory. Alexandra Hall Is a timber framed building clad externally with weatherboard. The rood is hipped with gables to the east and west. The gables are louvred timber ventilators. The windows are fixed sash over a hopper sash and the sashes are divided with glazing bars. There is a verandah on the south. The Hall has a coved ceiling lined with stamped metal, over/above a ripple iron lined dado to shoulder height. The floor is wide jarrah boards. The eastern end of the Hall has been partitioned off as an opportunity shop. In the west end of the Hall is a raised stage with an arch lined with stamped metal. The stage area is lined with pine. There is an internal door on each side of the stage, on the south four steps and a balustrade lead down to the Hall floor, on the north side the steps have been removed and replaced with a stairway down to a room under the stage. The room under the stage has a timber floor, large timber columns and beams to support the stage, a batten plaster ceiling, ripple iron on the east wall, sheet material on the other walls, a door to the outside on the west and two small windows. This building is one of a group which includes St Luke's and the Old Rectory. Close by to the south is St Luke's Church. Both are set in well maintained, landscaped gardens with lawns, brick paving and limestone retaining walls. The Rectory Is a large house with stone walls and a metal roof. The chimneys are decorated with elaborate corbelling in face brickwork. The gables on the east and west elevations have a distinctive pattern of battens with stucco infill. A verandah with original posts and brackets flanks the front section of the house. The present railing on the west side was not part of the original building. The entrance is from the eastern side of the verandah through the original front door. From a spacious entrance hall open three rooms and a passage leading to the back of the house. There are three rooms off the passage. The windows to the east and west are double hung with upper sashes divided into nine planes. On the south side two sets of French doors open out onto the verandah. Most of the rooms have ceiling roses, cornices and fireplaces, including one marble fireplace with a tiled hearth. The doors are all original with locks and keys. The back verandah has been closed in with weatherboard additions and the original stairway to the cellar and laundry has been relocated to the outside of the verandah. There are two back doors on to the verandah, one from the passage and one from the kitchen. The kitchen has been modernised but the original archway from the wood stove remains. A small room is accessed from the verandah and is above the cellar and laundry. This building is one of a group which includes St Luke's and Alexandra Hall. The rectory is set in a large, informal garden with mature eucalypts.
St Luke's Anglican Church 1904 additions of transepts and sanctuary to the eastern end of the nave were designed by J Talbot Hobbs. 1956 front porch and entrance to west and additions to vestry. Alexandra Hall Internal Stairway Added The Rectory Railing of west side of verandah. Weatherboard enclosure of back verandah. Relocation of back stairway. Kitchen modernised. Roof replaced. Two fireplaces covered over.

A very attractive older residence which had been carefully incorporated into the building of other school facilities without losing its domestic appearance. It has been renovated to retain most architectural details. Grand View House demonstrated both early architectural styles in Mosman Park and a suitable adaptive use in education.
Old house in school ground, renovated and extended. Brick, originally tuck pointed with rendered banding at sill level, now all painted. Limestone foundations. Hipped roof with orange tiles, gables over windows and entrance with rough stucco and timber chimney. Hoods to south and west windows have corrugated metal roofs. Verandah to south and east sides has timber floor, intricately turned timber posts and plain diagonal cross balustrading. Most windows are sash with some extending to floor level with timber sills. Other windows casement. Front door has stained glass in fan, side lights and door panels in an Art Nouveau floral style. The glass in the door reads "GRAND VIEW". Back door has two blue patterned glass panels and green patterned glass fanlight. Interior appears to have many original details including ceiling roses in most rooms, decorative timber architraves to most doors and windows, archway in hall with decorated mouldings. Probably original doors and door furniture. Severe cracking in wall near back door. House has been extended to the north in a sympathetic style and with minimal connection. Extension not included in this description or listing. Joined by roof continuation to building to the north west which is not in a similar style. Brick paved path to the south. To the south, east and west the house is surrounded by gravel car park and driveway with small garden beds next to the house. To the north is lawn, pine trees and the extension.
Extension to north. Renovation. Possible replacement of roof

Single storey limestone and iron homestead style fmr house. The limestone is laid in a random fashion with scribed mortar to create the appearance of dressed stone. The roof is hipped with vented gablets, extending down to form the verandah canopy, supported on timber columns and open to all sides with no balustrade. The deck is concrete with stone flags. The elevations are populated with 1-over-1 sash windows and French doors. The original main entrance faces the chapel with stained glass panels to the door, sidelights and fanlights. The other entrances around the building have timber panelled doors with plain glass sidelights and fanlights. Bay windows are positioned on both the north and east elevations. Rendered chimneys with corbelling.
This building was constructed c1909 for Samuel Richard Lewes Elliott and his family. Samuel R L Elliott (1860-1933) was born in Carmarthen, Wales. He relocated to Western Australia and took up a pastoral lease in the Geraldton region. His station was known as 'Oakabella'. The residence in Mosman Park was constructed c1909 although the architect and builder for the place have not been established. The home was known as 'Coed Mawr' a Welsh name which is roughly translated as 'big wood'. The family maintained both properties and the Mosman Park, or Cottesloe Beach, residence and gardens were used for fundraising events such as the Lady Lawley Cottage-by-the-Sea. During his occupancy Samuel Elliott encouraged kangaroos and emus to live on to the property. The pine trees on Bay View Terrace are believed to have been planted by Elliott. The smallest of these trees is a replacement for the original trees. The pine tree were removed by the School in July 2014. Samuel Elliott was a member of the local roads board between 1923-1926 and 1928-1933, and also served as the MLA for Geraldton between 1913 -1914 and also in 1917. In late 1929, Samuel Elliot sold the house and grounds to St Hilda's Girls School and the school relocated to the premises from Claremont. Samuel Elliot and his wife Emma relocated to a large property facing the river between Hill Terrace and Mosman Terrace which he again named 'Coed Mawr'. St Hilda's used the building as the school rooms until the completion of Catherine House in late 1930 ready for occupancy in 1931. The former Elliott home was used as a sick bay, dining room and quarters for the senior teachers. In recent years the building has undergone major restoration work funded by the family of former student Hope Hancock neé Nicholas (1915-1983) and named in her honour. The restoration works included the removal of external cladding on the stone walls. The gallery space created by the removal of internal walls is believed to have taken place prior to the 1990s. The building continues to be used by the school for administrative puposes and as an art gallery.

Boarding House (fmr) Substantial two storey brick and tile house with extensive upper balcony wrapping around all sides. The roof form is hipped with vented gablets, extending down to form the balcony canopy albeit at a shallower angle. A projecting gabled roof is situated on the south side of the building. The lower verandah is inset marginally from the balcony above, with the beams projecting out from beneath the balcony floor, forming a decorative feature. A panelled frieze extends between the timber columns. Both the upper balcony and lower verandah are enclosed by a timber balustrade. Timber framed 1-over 1 sash windows with obscure glazing. The doors are a combination of timber panels and timber with glass upper panels. The set of double doors to the north elevation contain stained glass lights, together with stained glass fanlights. Morton Bay Fig Trees The four trees are located on the boundary of the school property. Two are alongside one of the entrances from Palmerston Street and the remaining two are located on the Bay View Terrace street frontage. All trees have an impressive canopy and trunk formation. Original Convent Elements The front door and original stained glass from the original convent and former residence have been retained within the new convent building. (Site not accessed)
The Congregation of Presentation Sisters WA (Inc) purchased the former residence of mining entrepreneur, Hon Zebina Lane in 1907 to provide accommodation for the Presentation Sisters who wished to establish a school for the Catholic girls in the district. The large residence designed by architect, Henry Trigg, set within seven acres overlooking the bay, was used as a convent and as a school. The house was named ‘Chateau Perseverance’ by Lane. Prior to his ownership the residence was named ‘Buckland House’ by the original owner, Dr Adam Jameson. When the school relocated to this site two Morton Bay Fig trees were planted on the Bay View Terrace side of the property. The name “IONA” was suggested by Bishop Matthew Gibney because it reminded him of the Isle of Iona off the west coast of Scotland. The school grew in numbers and in the facilities it offered to students with many new buildings for the students. In 1914 a school hall was built (demolished in 2005) and in 1936 a two storey boarding house was built. The 1936 boarding house was designed by architect Edgar Le B Henderson who undertook many projects for the Catholic Church in Western Australia. The builders were Berry Brothers and the cost of construction was £3400. The building was opened by the Archbishop of Perth, Dr Prendiville on 24 April 1937. At the time of construction the building consisted of two refectories, a reception room and kitchen block on the ground floor, and two dormitories, bathrooms and balconies on the top floor. The two Morton Bay Fig trees which frame the entrance to the property from Palmerston Street were planted when the boarding house was constructed. In 1976, the original convent building was demolished to enable the construction of a new convent. Some features of the original convent, the front door and the original stained glass were reinstated within the new convent. Since construction the 1936 boarding house has undergone changes to suit modern amenities and changes of use. Most recently in 2008 the classrooms were refurbished with funding from the Commonwealth Government BER program. Currently [2013] the building is used for the Year 12 students.

This is an example of a modern pre-school building designed for functionality, aesthetic pleasure and the Australian climate. It has served a generation of Mosman Park children and continues to be both practical and attractive.
A brick building with very large windows and a low pitched, orange tiled roof. Wide verandahs on the north and part of the east sides have uncut log posts. The ceiling has exposed beams and south facing, skylight windows. Most of the internal space is occupied by a single, large activity room, with office, stores and bathrooms to the side. The building is set in large garden with mature trees and play equipment.
A previous building on this site was a former U.S. Navy building moved here from Fremantle in 1947 and re-erected by local volunteers.
